Zelman Kiwaiko, 81, died at 6:00 pm, Thurs., Mar. 17, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 31, 1929 in Sokolov, Poland. Married to the former Ann Shirley DiGiovanni in Chicago in 1962. Started his career at Illinois National Bank. He was an entrepreneur and owner/founder of National Consumers Corp. Zelman was a veteran of U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. Member of Ohave Shalom Synagogue. Predeceased by his parents. Survivors include: wife; Ann Shirley Kiwaiko of Rockford, children; David (Jill) Kiwaiko of Glenview, IL, Suzanne (Scott) Anderson of Machesney Park; (4) grandchildren, Kelsey, Sydney, Ally, and Jacob, brothers and sisters-in-law Anthony & Marsha DiGiovanni, Merlin & Alberta Manley & (5) nephews.
Services at 11:00 a.m., Mon., March 21, 2011, at Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd. 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107, with Rabbi William Fertig officiating. Burial in Rockford Hebrew Cemetery. A memorial to be established at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.sundbergfh.com.
