Wm. Earl Price

Wm. Earl Price, 90, passed away 9:15 pm, Thurs., June 2, 2011 from a stroke. Born May 31, 1921 in Nora, IL son of William Lee and Ruby (Poland) Price. Graduated from Rockford Central High School. Married to the former Jane Garman in Rockford on Oct., 31, 1942. Retired from Woodward Governor after 44 years, most recently as Service Manager. Member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Rockford Moose Club. Earl enjoyed playing cards and was a Chicago White Sox Fan. He was also an avid bowler and golfer, winning many trophies for each. His grandchildren were very important to him. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairhaven for their care and compassion.
Survivors include; wife: Jane of Rockford, a daughter: Marcia (Klaas) Schenkel of Holcomb, IL, 2 sons: Bill (Vicki) Price and Steven (Karen) Price, both of Rockford; 4 grandchildren: David (Katy) Price, Alan Price, Amy Price and Bobby Price, 3 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Mason and Reagan Price; 2 brothers: Jim Price and Ralph Wilson, 2 sisters: Margaret Altergott and Doris McCaw and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, 3 brothers and a half-sister.
Services at 11:00 am, Mon., June 6, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, with the Rev. Eric Lemonholm officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation at funeral home from 10:00 am to service time on Monday. Online condolences may be left at www.sundbergfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
