Velma Valeria Gray age 89 of Rockford, Illinois died Thursday December 12, 2019 at Javon Bea Hospital. She was born in Reading, Michigan to Melvin and Valerie Coy. She loved working on the farm with her family and playing games with her siblings. She loved her church and the word of God. She was an active member in her youth and later went to bible college in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She then became a missionary in south Pittsburg, Tn where she met her husband woody. They were married in July of 1959 and moved to Rockford, IL. She worked at pierce packaging until their closing.
She leaves behind son Lenny (Terri) Gray, grandsons Timmy (Valerie) McClain, Nicolas (Tara) Gray, Levi (Katrina) McClain, son Mark Gray, Granddaughters Shelbie (Thomas) Reed, Valerie Gray, Autumn (Charlie) Gray and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18th 2019 at 1200 (noon) at Sundberg Funeral Home 215 N. 6th St. Rockford, IL 61107. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 18th beginning at 11 o’clock a.m. until the time of service. The burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences can be placed at Sundbergfh.com.
