Thomas “Tom” Kuczynski, 70, of Rockford, passed away on September 26, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
Tom was born on August 6, 1956, in Rockford, IL. He graduated from East High School in 1974 and worked at J. Rubin Steel for many years.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and a person who will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and vibrant spirit.
Tom found happiness in the outdoors, especially on Lake Wisconsin. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, and watching football—DA BEARS! Tom knew how to enjoy life. He loved a good party, a good joke, and made friends everywhere he went. His outgoing personality, inappropriate jokes, and ability to make people laugh made him someone who was hard to forget.
He is survived by his children, Katie (Durell), Bradley (Kerry), and Dominick (Katie), and grandchildren, Aiden, Kameron, Nina, Callum, Brighton, Vincent, and Gavin. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy, Patricia, Mary, Mark, John, and Joseph, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Karl, and siblings Robert, Diane, and Karl Jr.
Tom leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love and memory with them. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Celebration of Life: Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4–6 p.m. at Sundberg Funeral Home.
