Tevin Tevell Newell

Tevin Tevell Newell, 34, passed away on July 9, 2026. Born on November 18, 1991, to Shelia Diane Hatter Newell and the late Donald Earl Newell, Tevin was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Flint, Michigan.

A devoted son and family man, Tevin served as the primary care provider for his mother for the last 15 years following her stroke. Although he did not have children of his own, he was a cherished father figure to his many nieces and nephews. Known as the family "chef," he loved playing basketball and was a dedicated Xbox gamer.

Tevin is survived by his mother, Shelia Hatter Newell; his grandmother, Dorothy Bailey; and his seven siblings: Tanya Hatter, Dawn Newell, Diana Newell, Donald Jeron Newell, Tavaris Newell, Timothy Newell, and Shedonn (Alan) Newell. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: Shana, Jamari, Brittny, Avah, Jaylen, Jayda, Kaliyah, Tevelle, Jaslyn, Kimora, Kaiden, Amir, Ta’Harah, Xavari, Timothy Jr., Alan Jr., and Ivan, as well as his special nephews Prince, Hakeem, Timothy Jr., and Zy’Mier. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Earl Newell.

Private family services were held and cremation rites were accorded.
