Sipriano Castro "The Great One"
Sipriano Castro, 70, passed away on February 23, 2026.
Born on July 26, 1955, in Elkhorn, Sipriano later made his home in Rockford, where he lived for many years and built a life centered around hard work, family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.
Sipriano dedicated his career to Powertrain Rockford Inc., where he began working in 1972. His many years of service reflected his strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment.
Outside of work, Sipriano had a true passion for football and was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He rarely missed a game and proudly cheered on his team through every season. He also enjoyed trying his luck with lottery tickets and scratch-offs, spending time playing pool, and taking joy rides in his beloved sports cars. These hobbies reflected his fun-loving spirit and appreciation for life’s little thrills.
Visitation will be held at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 N. 6th Street, Rockford, Illinois, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School Street, Rockford, Illinois 61101..Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the service.
Sipriano will be remembered for his dedication, his passions, and the enjoyment he found in the things he loved most. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
