Shirley McIntosh Obituary

Shirley M. McIntosh, 88, passed away at 8:27 a.m., Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1923, the only child of Clinton and Iva Spackman. Shirley was one of the first female cheerleaders at Rockford High School. She graduated as valedictorian from West High School in 1941. She married Sgt. Stanley McIntosh on Oct. 3, 1942. He predeceased her July 27, 1995. She was a former Pink Lady at RMH for 15 years. Four children survive: Steven, Gregory, Lynda, and Michael McIntosh; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Private family services are scheduled. The family requests no flowers or memorials. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford.
