Sharon Powers Obituary

Sharon Marie Powers, 71, of Rockford, Illinois went home on January 11th, 2023, at Swedish American Hospital. She was born on February 17th, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa to William and Mary Jeannette (Ware) Wedig. She graduated Rochelle High School. She worked as a CNA for a number or years. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Rockford.

Survived by her children, Amy (Brian) Voss, Lisa (Clinton) Tighe, Sarah (Jerry) Wells, Paul (Erika) Powers; grandchildren, Audrey, Anna, Trevor, Meaghan, Michaela, Joslynn, Max, Teagan, Owen; great-grandson, Luca; nieces and nephews, Aarin (Eddie) Atkinson, Tim Wedig, Jen (Eric) Speakes, Jake (Megan) Wedig, Jordan Wedig, and Shawn Wedig; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in her death by her parents; and brothers Joel and Kevin (Boona) Wedig.

Services and memorial will be held at a later date. Sundberg Funeral Home is caring for the family.
