Sandra J. Goff, 71, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 in her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born Mar. 30, 1940 to Orrie Grant and Daisy Blanche Berge in Ransom, IL. She graduated from Streator High School in 1958 and from Rockford Business College in 1960. Sandra married James J. Goff in 1962. She was formerly employed by American Red Cross and Woodward Governor and retired in 2002. She also was also organist at Christ Church Unity of Rockford for many years. Sandra enjoyed spending time with family, doing crafts, playing cards, and playing the piano and organ. She and Jim also enjoyed spending their winters in Sebring, FL.
Survivors: her husband, James; her brother, Craig Berge of Streator, IL; son, Bradley (Teresa) Goff of Machesney Park; daughters, Melanie (John) Edson of Rockford, and Valerie (Christopher) Leighty of Roscoe, IL; her grandchildren, Chelsie and Rachele Robertson, Kassondra and Jason Goff, A. J. and Brandon Leighty; great-grandson, Brayden Robertson; stepgrandchildren, Cory Starnes and Makenna Thorpe; and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, granddaughter, Melinda "Mindy" Robertson, brothers-in-law, Raymond, Robert, and Kerry Goff, and sister-in-law, Karen Berge.
Service at noon, Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Care of America, especially Julie, Barb, Sharon, Claire, and Pastor Ken. Memorials in her name to Hospice Care of America or Tanglewood Community Church.
