Sandra Lynne (Larson) Connell

Sandra L. Connell  1948 - 2020

Sandra Lynne Connell passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Alpine Fireside Health Center in Rockford IL after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Sandy was born in Sioux Falls SD on May 14, 1948 to Oscar and Winnifred (Siegele) Larson. Spending most of her childhood in Bridgewater SD, she was always proud of attending a small, one room school house and going on to obtain a degree from Northern Illinois University after graduating from Guilford High School in Rockford. After several years of teaching in the Rockford School System, Sandy worked in sales and training at Rock Valley Computers and later at Subway Development as office manager until her retirement in 2010.

Sandy had a multitude of loves: her family, reading, sewing, gardening, volunteering at Cornucopia Food Pantry, live music, and of course, travel, not only throughout the US but also her several trips to Scandinavia.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John, her daughter Erin (Eric) Anderson of Eau Claire WI and their daughters, Maja and Cecilia, her sons Kevin (Emily) Connell of San Diego CA, and Andrew Connell of Rockford IL., and her brother Verne (Karen) Larson of Machesney Park IL.

A memorial service and celebration of her wonderful life will be held this spring when her beloved flowers are in bloom.

Sandy was always so proud of the amount of artificial limbs we were able to provide for those who needed them so badly.

We will all miss her dearly.
