Rockford- Rozalia “Rose” Laputa 87 went to heaven to be with the Lord at 3:50 pm Friday, December 8, 2023, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. She was born December 3, 1936, in Belarus, the daughter of Vaysl and Pelagia Sykaluk. Arriving from Germany, Rose lived in Cleveland, Ohio before she became a resident of Rockford. Rose married Stefan Laputa on February 15, 1958, in Chicago. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat “Ra”. She loved animals, cooking, and gardening. Member of St. Vladimir Vladimirovo Orthodox Church. Survivors include her sons Steven D. (Sarah) Laputa, Michael G. (Suzette) Laputa, and granddaughter Violet.
Preceded by husband, parents, grandson Nicholas, brothers, and sisters.
The funeral Service will be Friday, December 15th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir Vladimirovo Orthodox Church, 4908 Saint Seraphim St, Rock City, IL 61070. Friends may visit on Thursday, December 14th, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, IL. 61107. Condolences may be sent to sundbergfh.com.
