Rosa (Lozano) Rodriguez

Rosa Rodriguez, age 50, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on December 7th, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. She was born in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico to Ricardo and Maria Lozano on September 2nd, 1975. She went to East High School and graduated from the class of 1994. She met her husband Gustavo and they were married November 21st, 1997.

Rosa shared 28 wonderful years with Gustavo and together they had three boys who she deeply loved. She came down with ovarian cancer almost a decade ago and showed her love toward her husband and the boys and always made them feel cared for and loved even while battling the disease. She enjoyed family time doing scrapbooking, coloring books and cooking different delicacies. Her family was her life.

She was proud of the fact that she became a citizen of the U.S.A. in 2008. Education was an important point in her life and even though she was battling cancer she almost received her degree to be a medical interpreter.

She survives with her husband Gustavo, three sons, Gustavo, Jr., Rodrigo and Omar Rodriguez.

Father, Ricardo, two brothers, Ricardo and Jesus Lozano.  Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Rosa was preceded in death by her mother Rosa Marie Ortiz on April 20th, 2025.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Sundberg 

Funeral Home, 215 N. 6th Street, Rockford, Ill. 61107, beginning at 3:00 p.m. and going till 7:00 p.m....
