Ronald H. Winebrenner, 97, of Rockford, passed away on Feb. 19, 2023.
Born Oct. 17, 1925, in Mishawaka, Ind., son of Earl and Cora Ellen (Stevens) Winebrenner. A WWII, Battle of the Bulge veteran. Married Norma Richter on Oct. 23, 1946, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Careered as Manufacturing Engineer - tax preparer once retired. Married to Karen B. Witz, Nov. 27, 1993, in the Chicago Temple. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rockford, and former Branch President. Ron enjoyed many years as a temple worker/sealer in Chicago, genealogy, coin collecting, potlucks, pies, and playing cards, and always there to help family and friends.
Survivors: wife Karen; daughter Sue Carpick, Nebraska; son Jim, Japan; sister Dorothy "Jeanie" Boyer, Utah; grandchildren Todd Winebrenner, Ben Carpick (Amanda), Cassandra Carpick, Alex Winebrenner (Kylie), Brian Joe Winebrenner (Rachel), Michelynah Anderegg (Jon), Rebecca, Sasha, and eight great-grandchildren.
They were predeceased by their parents, wife Norma, son Reid, and siblings Robert, Richard, and John Roy (Jones).
The Funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.; friends may visit on Tuesday from 12:30 until the time of service at the Church.
