Ronald M. Cook, age 91, of Rockford, Illinois died on Thursday April 18th, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 28th, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois to Rudolph and Florence (Paulson) Cook. Moved to Harvey, Illinois on May 15th, 1940. Graduated from Bryant Elementary School and Thornton Township High School on June 9th, 1951. After High School he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean War as a high-speed radio operator. Ronald was stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia; Fort Hood, Texas; and Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He worked for the United States Postal Service from 1961 until retiring on December 1st, 1990.
He is survived by: Sons Steven & David, and daughter Kathleen Garcia.
Grandchildren: Jessica (Chad) Martin, Joshua (Holly) Larson, Jenna Larson, Dustin (Stephanie) Garcia, Miranda (Michael) Garcia, Valerie (Steven) Shoudy, Trish (Damon) Harrison and Ashley.
Eight Great Grandchildren: Manaija, Maniyah, Xander, Kaeson, Eliana, Kole, Makyla, Kamdyn.
Preceded in death by wife Laurie Ann (Larson) Cook, Two sons, Timothy, and Richard. One grandchild Ty Cook. Two brothers George, Ed, and his wife Ellen.
Funeral Service will be Friday, April 26th, 2024, time 1:00 p.m. at Sundberg Funeral Home. Friends may visit from Noon until the time of service.
