Roger W. "Hot Rodder" Hochstatter, Jr., 53, died at 8:58 a.m., Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2011 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Mar. 26, 1957 in Rochelle, the son of Roger W. Sr., and Norma Hochstatter. Married Ruth Clark in Rockton on June 2, 1990. He was a machinist at Rock Valley Die Sinking for 20 years. Member of Arie 392 Eagles Club. Roger enjoyed hot rods, drag racing, and working on cars. He also liked camping at River Road Camp Ground. Survived by his wife, Ruth, sons, Casey, Leroy (Jennie) Howard, and Billy (Kristy) Howard, all of Rockford, a daughter, June (Jason) Weaver of Marine City, MI, 7 grandchildren, sisters, Lisa (Ron) Roggensack, of Rockford, and Theresa (Michael) Marks, of TX, several nieces and nephews, many special friends, including Rick and Mary Stucy. Predeceased by his parents and brothers.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Sat., March 26, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford. Visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. The family would like to thank Dr. Schultz, Kate Tammen, and N. IL Hospice for their care.
