Robert "Bob" Karhoff

Robert "Bob" Karhoff, 87 died at 6:55 am, Fri., Oct. 21, 2011 in his home. Born Feb. 9, 1924 in Knox, Co., MO, son of John and Elizabeth (Kruger) Karhoff. Married to the former Doris Francis in Edina, MO., Aug. 14, 1946. She predeceased him on Jan. 7, 1979. Bob was employed by JL Clark for 42 years, retiring in 1989. Veteran of U.S. Navy serving in WWII. Member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and social member of St. Ambrogio Society. Survivors include, children: Sandy Bevins, L. Joyce (Gerald) Gassaway and Richard Karhoff; grandchildren: Beth Gassaway, Faye Hutsell,Tracy Waldrop, Chrissy Karhoff, Heather Karhoff, and Jamie Karhoff; 12 great-grandchildren: Robert, Jerrit, Edward, Amanda, Ashley, Nicole, A.J., Kelsey, Britney, Brandy, Jessie and Lori; 10 great-great grandchildren, a niece; Ann. Honorary family members Ken and Sharon, Renee, Tonya Brueggeman, special friend Harry Turner. Predeceased by 3 brothers, a son-in-law, Jim Bevins and a grandson, Danny Reed.
Local visitation 5 - 7 pm, Mon., Oct. 24, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107 with rosary to follow. Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Wed., Oct. 26, 2011 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Edina, MO. Visitation at church from 10 am until Mass time. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Edina, MO.
