Richard "Rick" P. Egbert

Richard "Rick" P. Egbert age 76 of Rockford IL. went home to Heaven surrounded by his family on Friday September 13th, 2019 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago IL November 4th, 1942 to Richard D. and Ava (Penley) Egbert. He married the love of his life Sharon Egbert on March 13th, 1964. He received his associate degree from Rock Valley College and also attended Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago. He ran his own handyman lawn care service. He could be found on tour at his favorite karaoke bars singing his heart out seven days a week. He was a proud honorary member of the 72 twisted shifters RC. His greatest achievement was his family.
Survived by his daughter Andrea Egbert-LaGrene, two sons Richard (Lisa) Egbert of Rockford IL, Steven (Heather) Wright of Mt. Carroll IL.
Numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, loving wife Sharon, and his son Michael.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 18th, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a service following at Sundberg Funeral Home 215 North 6th Street Rockford IL. 61107. Burial will be at Winnebago Cemetery on Thursday September 19th, 2019 at 1 p.m.
