Phillip "Phil" Lomas

Phillip "Phil" Lomas, 74 was born into eternity at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 10, 1937 in Caledonia, IL, the son of Phillip and Emma (Garner) Lomas. He graduated from North Boone High School where he was an accomplished basketball and football player. Later, Phil graduated from Northern Illinois Univ. with a business degree. He married Nina Nardiello in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rockford on April 20, 1968. Phil was a self-employed home inspector prior to retirement. Survivors include his wife, Nina, a daughter, Andrea Tanner, both of Rockford, a son, Danny (Lindsay) Lomas of Nevada, grandchildren, Brittany, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Ethan, Nicolas, and Emma, and nieces and nephews. Phil was devoted to his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Roberta Bond and Dorothy Rorberg.

Service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford with Rev. Wendell Maynard officiating.
