Patricia Ann (Fitzpatrick) Edwards

Patricia Ann Edwards was born on February 5, 1933, and passed away peacefully in her sleep with her children by her side on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois.  Her parents were Leo Aloyicious and Edith Fitzpatrick.  She was the 4th child of 7 children. Patricia was a graduate of East High School in Rockford.  She met her husband DeWolfe H. Edwards of Belvidere, IL and they married on December 13, 1952.

Patricia was known as a great jitter bug dancer and roller skater. She was an avid shopper and loved decorating her house. She loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren. 

Patricia is survived by her three children, Christine Edwards Jeffery, her husband Gary, her son Steven Howard Edwards, and daughter, Rebecca Edwards McDade, her husband Danny, granddaughter, Jennifer Rebecca Jeffery Wilkerson. husband, Randy, and four great-grandchildren, Jaycie Wilkerson Carrazco, husband Jesus’, Jack Randall Wilkerson, Julie Rose Wilkerson, and James Michael Wilkerson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWolfe H Edwards on September 2, 2014, and her grandson, Garet Michael Jeffery on February 23, 2014. 

Patricia’s funeral will be at Sunberg Funeral Home in Rockford. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m., Funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m., and graveside services at 1:30 at Arlington Cemetery.

The funeral will be on Monday, March 24th, 2025, at 12 noon.
