Melvin C. Kittoe, Sr.

Melvin C. Kittoe, Sr., 80, went to join the Lord at 7:20 p.m., Sat., July 17, 2010 in his home after losing his battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.  Born June 30, 1930, in Shullsburg, WI, the son of Alfred and Cordelia (Letcher) Kittoe.  He lived 56 yrs. in Rockford, coming here from Platteville, WI.  He married Anna Kraklau on June 11, 1955, in Dubuque, IA.  Melvin was the owner of Rockford Window Cleaners for the past 40 years.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  Survivors include his children, Deborah Maki (Dan) of Winton, MN, Melvin Kittoe, Jr. (Mary) of Rockford, Cindy Bulthaus (Bryce) of Rockford, Brenda McPeak (Geof) of Chisholm, MN, Barbara Duong (Hoang) of Machesney Park, Frank Kittoe (Kim) of Rockford, and Fredrick Kittoe (Jaimie) of Rockford, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, extended family, friends and faithful companion, Dixie.  Predeceased by his father, mother, brother, and wife of 49 yrs., Anna.  

Service 11:00 a.m., Thurs., July 22, 2010 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, with Rev. Jane McChesney officiating.  Entombment will follw at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Online condolences at sundbergfh.com.
