Mary Louise (Cronk) Jones

Mary Louise Jones, 86, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on July 3, 2023, at Saint Anne Place in Rockford surrounded by family members.  She was born June 27, 1937, to Walter Leroy Cronk and Edith Fern Wade in Rockford, Illinois.  She married Junior Jones on October 2, 1954, in Pecatonica, Illinois.

   Mary dedicated her life to Jehovah God in December 1958 – almost 65 years.  She was longtime member of the Rockford South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and became a Pioneer in 1987.  Mary loved Jehovah God, her family, and all her spiritual family and friends.

   She loved roses, horses, dogs, reading her bible, and going out in service, door-to-door, witnessing for Jehovah.  Her hobbies included embroidery, needlepoint, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and playing a variety of card games.

   Mary is survived by three daughters:  Brenda Drennen (Michael), Anita Cardenas (Arthur), Lena Smith (Todd); one son Brian Jones (Stacy); one brother Henry DeCoto (Connie); six grandchildren: Kelcey, Casey, and Kerry Williams, Alyssa Viveros, Jared Jones, and Erica Medrano; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

   She is pre-deceased by her husband Junior Jones, both parents, one brother Floyd Cronk, six sisters: Alene Schultz, Bernice Schultz, Mabel Spradlin, Lois Cronk, Delores Jean Crawford, and Doris Jane Wehrlen.

   The family expresses their sincere thanks to ProMedica Hospice Care staff and Saint Anne Place, 4405 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL. staff for their effort in caring for Mary.

   The funeral service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 2916 Chadwick Drive, Rockford IL  61109.  Visitation from 2:00 pm to the time of service.  Brother Dan DeCastris will officiate.   Sundberg Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 215 North 6th Street, Rockford, Illinois is assisting the family with the arrangements.  For online condolences, visit sundbergfh.com.
