Mary Ann (Gilbertson) Dion

Mary Ann Dion age 87 of Rockford Illinois died September 12th, 2023. She was born December 16th, 1935, to Harvey and Ruth (Siefert) Gilbertson. In High School she was on the swimming team and after graduating she married to her high school sweetheart Donald Dion for fifty-five years. They had two beautiful daughters Cindy (Ed) McCarthy, Pflugerville, TX, and Susan (Thomas) Libricz, Machesney Park. Also had two beautiful granddaughters, Danielle (Chad) Walker, Spring Branch, TX, and Kaitlynn Marie Libricz, Machesney Park.

She lived a very full life.  She was a part of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. James Church and when they started Bingo there, she was in charge of the kitchen and all the treats.  She loved to travel to Texas in the winter months which towards the end was more like September to April, and we did all kinds of day trips and trips Vegas to see shows and play the slots and she always won!

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Edward McCarthy. Siblings Donald, Barbara, Joyce, Jack, and Roger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 25th, 2023, time 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N.
