Marilyn Oskins Obituary

Marilyn Louise Oskins, age 87, of Rockford IL, died Wednesday July 3, 2019 in the care of her family. She was born December 7, 1931 in Manchester, Connecticut to Harris and Anna (Good) Anthony. Marilyn attended Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, IL in 1954 where she learned to be a school teacher. She married the love of her life, Estle Oskins on August 17, 1957. She loved the Cubs and was very active in the Ski Broncs and Mad City Ski teams for many years. She loved her pet kitties, crocheting, and playing piano. She is survived by her husband, Estle Oskins; two daughters, Denise (Kurt) Burnside and Janelle (John) Birly; grandchildren; Jennifer Birly, Heather (Stephen) Reynolds, Alexis Birly, Brian Birly; sister, Pauline (Paul) Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Della Mitchell.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Center, 4721 South Main Street, Rockford, IL with Apostle Don Lyons officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park,IL. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church. Sundberg Funeral Home is caring for the family.
