Maria Guadalupe (Sigala) Castro

Maria Castro, age 79, of Rockford, Illinois, died on Thursday, January 2nd, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Jalisco, Mexico to Apolonio and Anselma (Sigala) Vicencio.  Retired from Amerock after 35 years. Lupe Loved spending the majority of her time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and family. She loved going to family events or partaking in them. She loved doing crossword puzzles and watching Cubs, bears, Judge Judy, and General Hospital. She also loved to cook her rice or tortillas and drinking her daily Pepsi.

The Funeral will be Thursday, January 9th, 2025, time 1:00 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2505 School St, Rockford, IL 61101. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois. 61101, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., and Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, Illinois.
