Margaret B. Johnson

Margaret B. Johnson, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011. Born Oct. 29, 1923 in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Sellen) Baker. Married Walter J. Johnson in Moline, IL on May 28, 1949. He predeceased her Mar. 27, 1986. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church , serving in the special ministry to the homebound, as a Eucharistic minister, a member of the choir, and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include her sons, Walter J. Johnson and Karl G. Johnson, her daughters, Mary Johnson and Allison Svornik, grandchildren, Joshua, Tarah, Megan, and Karl C. Predeceased by a son, Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second St., Rockford, IL with Fr. Dean Russell, pastor, celebrant. Visitation at Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford on Monday, January 17, from 5 - 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time on Tuesday. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to Janet Wattles Center, 526 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61101.

Visitation at funeral home from 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, January 17 with Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation at church one half hour prior to Mass on Tuesday, January 18.
