Louis Zimmerlee

Mr. Louis Zimmerlee, 94, of Rockford, Ill died on Friday, September 10 at Cherryvale Place.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1926 Louis and Mary (Elder) Zimmerlee in Rockford.
Mr. Zimmerlee earned his GED in 1944. He was in the Army from 1951-1953 and served in the Korean War. 
He was a Bronze Star recipient during the Korean War.
In 1953 he was joined in marriage to his loving wife, Lois.
He loved motorcycling and traveling. He was a member of Vasa Lodge and the Goldwing Road Riders Assn.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He split his time between living in Rockford and Lake Placid, FL.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Megan) Zimmerlee; grandchildren Eris,  Abigail (Kara Carlson) Jack. One great grandchild, Kamden Carlson.
His nieces and nephews: Betty Lou Hauge, Beverly and Larry Campbell, Bonnie and Dennis Cearney, Bruce and Crystal Ward and Brent Ward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, his parents and one sister, Marvel Ward.
