Louis Fiori Jr., 83, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Fri., at home surrounded by his family. Born July 12, 1927 in Centerville, IA to Louis and Lena (Kauzlarich) Fiori. Moved to Rockford as a child. He began working at Amerock at age 17. Lou served as a machine shop foreman with the Occupation Forces stationed in Japan. He returned to Amerock after the war where he remained until his retirement in 1988. Married Betty J. Blascoe on May 20, 1950. Lou's life was filled with activities. He enjoyed many fishing trips and vacations with family and friends. As an avid bowler, he competed in many ABC tournaments over the years. He loved to golf and play bocci, and was a lifelong Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan. He was past President of the Verdi Club. Lou was a very loving grandfather and enjoyed the special times he shared with his grandchildren. A truly goodhearted man, who treated everyone he met with respect and kindness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; sons, Mike (Julie) and Mark (Maureen); grandchildren, Lindsay and Russell; and brother Harold (Virginia) Fiori. Predeceased in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Mon., March 28, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 201 Buckbee St., Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 am to time of service.
