Linda Lou Franklin, 73, of Loves Park, Illinois; devoted wife, loving mother, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints returned to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2022. Born January 22, 1949 in Freeport, Illinois, to Ralph and Louise Wickwire. She married Steven Douglas Franklin on May 6, 1967 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Linda was employed by the Rockford Board of Education for 30 years, working in food service at East High School, retiring in 2018.
Linda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren whom were very special to her. Some of her many joys in life included; studying the word of God, her plants and flower garden, butterflies and all of God's creatures.
She was predeceased by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Steven, daughter Tracy, sons Doug, Jared and four grandchildren, Sariah, James, Seth, and Luke.
Service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 620 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL with Michael Spencer presiding and conducting. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
Burial will be Monday, February 28, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, Illinois at 2 p.m. in the Garden of the Last Supper. Memorials may be made in care of her family. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home.
