LeRoy Griffin

LeRoy Griffin, 74, died at 12:42 a.m., Thurs., July 15, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Med. Center. Born in Sumner, IL on Feb. 16, 1936, he was the son of Hurdis and Ruth (Eagleson) Griffin. Married Violet L. Rostan in Rockford on Dec. 16, 1961. She predeceased him Mar. 3, 1989. Veteran of the US Marine Corps. He retired from Rockford Powertrain after 30+ years of service. LeRoy enjoyed going out for breakfast with his friends and was devoted to his family. Survivors include 2 sons, Bruce (Deb) Griffin of Rockford and Brian Griffin of Kirkland, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. Predeceased by his parents, a sister, and 2 brothers.   
Service 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday. Online condolences may be made at sundbergfh.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
