Karen B. Winebrenner, 83, of Rockford, passed away on Nov. 21, 2023.
Born Feb. 27, 1940, in Belvidere, IL, daughter of Edward M. and Mildred (Larsen) Bowman.
She worked as cashier at IGA and in the library at the LDS church in Rockford extensively researching family genealogy where she met her husband, Ronald Winebrenner. They married on Nov. 27, 1993, in the Chicago Temple. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rockford, she was a Compassionate Service coordinator, Primary teacher, and Family History director. Karen enjoyed her flower garden and organizing family history and photos. She was an exceptional host and cook, sharing many meals and casseroles with her beloved family and loved ones. Above all, Karen was known as one of the sweetest, kindest, most giving people you'd ever have the pleasure of knowing.
Survivors: nieces and nephews Charles E. Bowman, Alanna Bowman, Rendy Bowman-Stalkfleet, Brad and Michelle Bowman, Ken and Kim Bowman, great nieces and nephews, Beloved In-laws: D. "Jean" Boyer, Sue, Ben (Amanda), Cassandra Carpick, Michelynah Anderegg (Jon), Brandyn Pilling, Alex (Kylie) and Joe (Rachel) Winebrenner
Predeceased by parents Edward and Mildred, husband Ron, and brothers John C. and Steven "Clay" Bowman
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 620 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford on Monday, Dec. 4 at 12:00 following a visitation at 11:00. Burial following, at Belvidere Cemetery.
