Son of James and Elsie Hanrahan. Married Geraldine Waters in 1972 after serving in the US Navy for 12 years.

Sons Gregory (Tara) Hanrahan, Paul Trent, Grandchildren Ashlee (A.J) Ashwood, Seth Trent, Brittney Trent, Klara (Levi) Brittain, Brandon Brittain, Randall Brittain, Kayann (James) Reemtsma, Sarah Brush, Patrick England, Sister Carol Knodle, Great Grandchildren Alayna, Aidan, Vinny, Niko, Theo, Ava, Ivy, Eve, Lacie, Olivia, and Blake, Nemours neices and nephews.

While enlisted in the U.S. Navy John served aboard the USS Preble, USS Richard E Byrd, and the USS Firm before being Honorably discharged in 1971 and is Vietnam Veteran. John had a great sense of humor, loved bowling and playing cribbage.

He is predeceased by Parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 5 brothers-in-law, and 3 sister-in-law.

Visitation is Monday May 22,2023 from 6pm to 8pm at Sundburge Funeral Home. Cremation following.
