Obituary Joan Crawford Burnett, 91 of Beloit, Wisconsin departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born March 3, 1933, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. The daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Simms) Crawford. Joan attended public school in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Joan accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. Along with her family, she attended Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Mississippi. In 1952, Joan joined Emmanuel Baptist Church. Throughout the many years of dedication, she was a part of the Willing Workers, Fall Festival, Combined Choir, and the Senior Choir. In 2022 she was ordained as a Church Mother. Mother had a deep affection for all people. She loved quartet singing. Mrs. Brenda Jones-Harper was always by her side as they traveled to events around the community. She was employed for 10 years at Frito Lay Company in Beloit, Wisconsin, 10 years at Warner Brake and Clutch in Rockton, Illinois, and 16 years with Rosman Uehling and Kinzer Funeral Home in Beloit, Wisconsin. Joan Crawford Burnett was married in 1950 to the late Virgil P. Burnett, Sr., and to this union, six children were born. She leaves her spirit with those who will always cherish her memories: two sons: Virgil Burnett of Tampa, Florida; Bobby (Sharon) Burnett of Wisconsin Dells; three daughters: Mary Kay (David) Grady of Beloit, Wisconsin; Sharon (Aaron) Roby of Rockford, Illinois; Denise Burnett of New Market, Alabama; one daughter in law Deb Burnett of Rockton, Illinois; one sister: Gloria Crump of Springfield, Illinois;12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves to cherish her memories of her special friends: Mrs. Lula B. Ray Pinson, Mrs. Tommie Jean Joiner, and Mrs. Mary Glover. Joan was preceded in death by her son Oliver Burnett, her parents Benjamin and Mary Crawford, her sisters: Berniece, Earline, Elma, and Robbie; and her brothers: Alvin, Leonard, Lamaine, Calvin, Bobby, Benny, James, and Edwin.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 5th, 2024, time 1:00 p.m. at Emanuel Baptist Church of Beloit, Wisconsin. Rev. O.J. Newburn Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit. Friends may call from Noon until the time of Service at the Church.
