Ida Sklar, 90, passed away peacefully at 4:15 am, Wed. Oct. 20, 2010 in her home. Born Jan. 27, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI daughter of Jacob and Ceilia (Israel) Pollack. Ida lived 61 years in Rockford, coming here from Milwaukee, WI. Married to Morris Sklar on June 19, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI. He predeceased her Sept. 10, 1992. She and her husband, Morris, owned and operated Parkside Men's Wear for 30 plus years. Member of Ohave Sholom Synagogue and lifetime member of Hadasah, Past-Pres. and member of Ohave Sholom Sisterhood. She loved her family and spending time with relatives. Ida attended University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee. Survivors include 2 sons: Jay Sklar of Rockford, David (Vicki) Sklar of Loves Park, 3 grandchildren: Courtney Sklar, Meagan Sklar and Phillip Sklar. Predeceased by brother, Max Pollack, a sister, Edith Yanow. Special thanks to Courtney Sklar for her dedication and loving care of her grandmother. The family would also like to thank Northern. Services at 11:00 am, Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 in Ohave Sholom Synagogue, 3750 Guilford Rd. with the Rabbi Binah Wing officiating. Burial in Rockford Hebrew Cemetery. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established by the family.
