Gordon Rosenquist Obituary

Gordon "Gordy" S. Rosenquist, 80 died at 4:33 am, Tues., May 17, 2011 in his home. Born Mar. 30, 1931 in St. Charles, IL son of Godfrey & Bertha (Hegstrom) Rosenquist. Graduated from East H.S. in 1950, veteran of US Army serving from 1952 - 1954. Married to Betty Nelson in Rockford, Sept. 24, 1955. Employed by US Post Office for 32 years retiring in 1986. He was an avid chess player. Gordy had a love for all God's creatures. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their care & compassion. Survivors include, wife: Betty, son: Greg Rosenquist, sister: Norma (Ted) Fagerburg, nephew: Jim Fagerburg, special friends: Tom & Cornelia Foley all of Rockford. Predeceased by a brother: Marvin "Bud" Rosenquist and parents.
Services at 10:00 am, Sat., May 21, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL with Chaplain Pam Lojewski of Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation at funeral home from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday. Online condolences may be left at www.sundbergfh.com.
