 **Obituary for Frank Edward Ruggles Jr.**  

Frank Edward Ruggles Jr., age 79, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with his beloved wife, Janice, by his side. Born on October 13, 1946, in Paducah, Kentucky, he was the son of Frank E. Ruggles Sr. and Vivian M. (Shelby) Ruggles. 

Frank devoted 40 wonderful years to his wife, Janice K. Ollman, and together they cherished their life, filled with love and adventure, including many fishing trips with friends.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; sisters Janice Witt and Connie (David) Whitehead; brothers Steven (Kay); granddaughter Elisalee; her children, Ashton, Millie, and Madison; and their great-grandson Kyle. Granddaughter Jamey and her boys, Aiden and Abraham. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.  Frank loved them so much.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Tina, and great-grandson Baby Austin, as well as sisters Joyce, Vickie, and brother Mitch.  

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Sundberg Funeral Home, located at 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois. Friends and family are invited to visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  An entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, Illinois.

Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
