Fabian Gonzales, 64, of Rochelle, IL, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on November 6, 2025. Fabian was a devoted brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Fabian moved to Rochelle, IL, from Devine, Texas, in 2005. Born on June 12, 1961, in Hondo, Texas. Fabian was the son of Francisco Gonzales and Diana Elsa Villarreal Gonzales.
Fabian was one of the first in his class and town to participate in the Special Olympics. A special shout-out to his coach, Mr. Strout, from Devine, Texas, for believing in Fabian and never leaving his side.
Fabian had diverse work experience despite his developmental disabilities. He had a passion for fixing bikes, lawnmowers, wrestling, WWE, Johnny Cash, and old country western movies. Fabian loved spending time with his family and looked forward to family gatherings.
He is survived by his two sisters, Mary Mancilla and Laiza Romero, and three brothers, Fraser Gonzales, Adam Villarreal, and Joe Benjamin Otanez. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Agapito and Juanita Villarreal; his parents: Francisco Gonzales and Diana Elsa Villarreal Gonzales; his brothers, Francisco Gonzales Jr, and Kacey Villarreal; his sister, Diana Gonzales; his nephew, Xavier Villarreal; his great niece, Bella Escatel; and a couple of special relatives.
Service details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24th, at 4 pm at First General Baptist Church in Rochelle, IL. Dinner will follow immediately after, at the exact location.
