Obituary Emma Lee Tharps 91, of Rockford, IL departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 8, 2020. She was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on May 20, 1929 to Monroe and Winne Outlow. She came to Rockford, Illinois as a child and she attended East High School. She married Cleveland Tharps on July 9, 1965. She worked in the Finishing Department at Amerock and retired December 2, 1987. She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board, the mission and sang in the choir. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate women. In her free time she loved to garden and take walks around her neighborhood picking up liter Her favorite saying was “ There is a place for everything and everything should be in its place.” To cherish her memory are her 5 loving daughters, Beatrice Ware, Loretta Sylmon, Lorraine (Tommie) Young, Louise Clark and Patricia (Edward)Teamer, all of Rockford, IL; her grandchildren Kimberly, Michelle, Lawrence, Charlotte, Natesha, Vertrina, Nikki, Julia, Quentin, Ebony, Jasmine, Brandon, Darien, Ricky, DaVita and Tiki. A host of great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Monroe and Winne Outlow and brother Frank Outlow Sr., husband, Cleveland Tharps, four grandchildren, Latoya Blake, Tracy Walker, Justice Blake and Linda Redd. Two great grandsons, Jonathan Armstrong and Robbie Green.
