Elizabeth Marie (Price) Libowski

Elizabeth Marie Libowski, 91, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on January11th 2022, surrounded by her children.

Elizabeth was born on November 14th, 1930, to Thomas (Tim) and Agnes Price in Rockford, IL. After graduating from West high school, she went on to work for Woodward Governor and then Warner Lambert for 17 years.

In 1951, she wed Paul Libowski, and together they had five children, Steve, Mary, John, Jan, and Sue.

Elizabeth dedicated her life to being a fantastic mother. She was always the "neighborhood mom" and the person you could depend on. She would always keep a tank full of gas just in case she had to come get anyone at any time of the day or night. She drove kids to the Rumpus Room in the 60s. Elizabeth excelled at supporting family and friends through life's many passions and difficulties.

Elizabeth loved to travel, attend concerts, and she enjoyed the Waterfront. She had a passion for art and attending the Greenwich Village Art Fair was one of her favorite things. She enjoyed time with her special friends, Jim Fertig and Greg Murphy. Her dog, Henry, was her faithful companion. We will miss her greatly.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Paul Libowski along with her sister Agnes Price and her son John Libowski.

She is survived by her children: Steve (Chris) Kersch Libowski, Mary Mercado, Jan Prenot, and Sue Libowski. Grandchildren: Erica (Rigo), Rafi (Brittany), Luke (Jessica), Cody (Jade), Josh, and Rachael. Great grandchildren: Emalyn, Elena, Benjamin, and Gustavo. Cousins: Jim Clarke, Karen Dewey. Nephew: Bob Gillis.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61107. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Condolences may be sent to sundbergfh.com
