Dorlan "Bud" White

Dorlan "Bud" White, 86, died at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 in his home. Born April 21, 1925 in Rockford, the son of John and Catherine (Baxter) White. Married Jacquita "Jackie" Stebbins in Belvidere on May 13, 1975. She predeceased him July 6, 2007. WW II veteran of US Navy serving in the Pacific Theater aboard the submarine, USS Tang.

Member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 392 and Navy Club Ship 1.

Survived by his sons, Tommy White of Baltimore, MD, Darin (Kelly) Gillenwater of Virginia, and Barry (Laurie) White of Rockford, step-children, Jack (Carol) Stebbins of Redmond, WA, and June (Kenneth) Gustafson of Rockford, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special granddaughter, Becki.  Predeceased by a brother Roger and sisters, Dottie, Beverly, and Betty.

Service 1:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford. Visitation at the funeral home from noon until service time on Friday. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park.
