David W. Owen

David W. Owen, 75, died at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 in Provena St. Anne Center. He was born Mar. 22, 1936 in Rockford, the son of Dr. Alfred and Mrs. Clara (Warnes) Owen. David was a graduate of West High School and University of N. Colorado. He married Mary J. Foltz in Rockford on Aug. 18, 1962. She predeceased him Mar. 5, 1995. He was a retired school teacher working 16 years with the public school system. David was a member of Rockford Cemetery Association (Greenwood Cemetery) Board of Trustees, and was currently serving as President. Survived by his children: Elizabeth (Donald) Gorham of Rockton, Philip (Theresa) Owen of Rockford, Andrew Owen of DeKalb, and Emily Owen of Winnebago, 4 grandchildren, Claire and Leslie Gorham, and Anthony and Elise Owen, and a brother, William Owen of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
