Christine Lillian (Stillson) Brown

Christine Lillian Brown (Tiny) 79 of Rockford Illinois passed away peacefully November 8th, 2020

Christine was born August 22, 1941

The youngest of twelve children to Otto and Helen Stillson in Carpentersville Illinois. 

Christine got the nickname Tiny because of how small she was when she was born.

Christine married Jimmie lee Brown SR. 

August 29th, 1959 at the age of 18

They lived in New Boston Illinois until 1962 then moved to Rockford Illinois for employment opportunities. Christine worked as a nurse’s assistant in nursing homes for many years until she found employment managing restaurants like Hollywood diner and Geris Hamburgers. 

Christine loved to cook and bake from scratch Homemade breads, Jellies, Jams, cookies, and cakes were some of her favorites to make. Every Sunday she prepared big dinners for the family that would take all day to make. In the evenings she would crochet Dollies, blankets, scarfs, mittens, and booties. About ten years ago her hands would no longer allow her to crochet so her granddaughter Crystal and great grandchildren taught her how to play games on the computer and it quickly became her new found enjoyment no one else could touch the computer it was all hers! Then about two years ago she was no longer able to sit at the computer and asked for coloring books, markers, and colored pencils she would color one page after another giving her artwork out proudly.

Christine believed in God and Jesus and the Holy spirit she would pray multiple times a day.

Christine spent her life caring for others and always putting others above herself.

She had a huge hand in raising her grandchildren and loved each one of them with her whole heart.

Funeral Service will be Friday November 27, 2020 time 12 Noon at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, IL. 61107
