Charles "Bud" Skare, 84 died at 9:15 pm, Thurs., May 5, 2011 in his home. Born Feb. 2, 1927 in Rockford son of Charles and Marie (Sahn) Skare. Married to Blenda Hoge in Rockford in 1948. She predeceased him Dec 31, 1998. Employed as a Firefighter by the city of Rockford for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant. He was also a bricklayer for 33 years. Bud was a US Army veteran of WWII serving in Europe. Member of YMCA Men's Club and a volunteer at Midway Village. Survivors are daughter, Diane (Gary) MacGregor, son, Tom Skare, grandchildren, Ryan and Rory MacGregor and sister, Jean Winquist. And nephews and nieces. Predeceased by sister, Lavern Cleveland. The family would like to thank Bickford House and Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
Service at 11:00 am, Tues., May 10, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL with Chaplain Pam Lojewski of Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
