Carmen Penzi, 86, died 7:34 am, Sat. April 18, 2009 in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a short illness. Born Oct. 7, 1922 in Germany, daughter of Giacomo & Laura (Dagnolo) Manarin. Married Sante "Sam" Penzi in Italy on Oct., 26, 1946. He predeceased her Mar. 20, 1999. Member of St. James Catholic Church. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include a daughter, Gladys (Giorgio) Ferrari of Rockford, a son, Louis (Lori) Penzi of Whitefish, Mon., 3 grandchildren Jeff (Melodie) Ferrari, Michael (Dawn) Ferrari & Samuel Penzi, 2 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Emma. Funeral Mass at 10 am, Wed. Apr. 22, 2009 in St. James Catholic Church with Father Dean Russell officiating. Entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107. Online condolences at Sundbergfh.com. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, and from 9:30 am until service time on Wednesday, at the church. The rosary will be recited at 6 pm, Tues. at the funeral home.
