Bobby Gene Collins, 84, passed away at 10:25 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born June 8, 1927 in Green County, TN, the son of Allen and Agnes (Britton) Collins. Bobby was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army Air Corps. He married Mary Dewey in Rockford in 1950 and she predeceased him in 1977. Formerly employed as a machinist by Rockford Acromatics, retiring in 1984. Bobby enjoyed working with his hands, with woodworking, auto body repair, and as a mechanic. He attended Rockford Church of Christ Survivors include his children, Jim Collins of Wildrose, WI, Dennis (Janet) Collins of Loves Park, Kathy (Brian) Blosser of Rockford, and Kevin (Tonya) Collins of Machesney Park; step-children, Jackie and David; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard (Darlene) Collins of Chuckey, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, an infant daughter, Joyce, son Mike, wife Dora, and brothers, Jim and Richard.
