Bernie Ammon

Bernard "Bernie" Ammon, 57, passed away at 7:35 am, Monday, May 21, 2012, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 8, 1955, in Rockford son of Rudolph "Rudy" and Marilyn (Oquist) Ammon Meyer. Bernie graduated from Guilford High School. Married Kathy Fewell in Las Vegas, NV in 1998. Employed as a plumber and member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #23 for 35 years. Bernie enjoyed woodworking, golf, travel, and above all, his family. Survivors include: wife: Kathy of Rockton; 2 children, Tricia Rush and Scott Ammon; 2 step-sons, Mark and Steve Harper, 8 grandchildren; his mother, Marilyn Meyer; 2 sisters, Beverly Hogg and Barbara Bunting. Predeceased by his father, Rudy, in 1996.
Services at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 25, 2012, in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL 61107, with the Pastor Jim Rosene officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
