Barbara Jean (Isoz) Lowry

Barbara Jean (Isoz) Lowry departed this world unexpectedly in her home December 13, 2020. She joins her husband Clark G. Lowry and parents Barbara Jean (Slater) and Albert Isoz in heaven. She attended Rockford East High School, received a diploma from Rockford Memorial School of Nursing where she worked for over 35 years as a nurse, instructor, and Director of Nursing.  When the school of nursing closed their doors, she continued teaching various courses at Rockford College/University and Rock Valley College. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Rockford College/University. Barbara and Clark sponsored several Foreign Exchange students and continued to stay in contact with many of them through the years. She was a volunteer at the Coronado Theater and a valuable contributor to her high school reunion committee. She is survived by her son Andrew, sister Rebecca (Becky Isoz), (Roger) Thomas, nephew Eric, niece Joanna (Aaron) Lindstrom  and great niece and nephew Elise and Noah Lindstrom of Colorado. She will be missed by close friends Jeanine Johnson the Newmans, Neal and Katy Setchell, Dorothy Ann and Bert Huff, her dear cousins Robert Isoz and Ray and Willa Mincemoyer, and Margo and David Valenti, her former students, and co-workers as well as many others. 

Funeral Service will be Tuesday December 29th, 2020, time 1:00 p.m. at the Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, IL. 61107. Friends may call from Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to; Mayo Clinic of Rochester, MN, US Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Rockford Rescue Mission, or Alzheimer’s Association.
