Aureliano Flores 64, of Rockford, IL., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at Javon Bea Hospital, due to covid.
Aureliano was born November 14th, 1957 in Guadalajara, Mexico to Alfonso and Maria(Gonzalez)Flores. Aureliano came to the United States in 1977 and after many years of being here, he proudly became a US citizen in 2012. He married Alicia(Martinez)Flores on November 5th, 2001 in Rockford, IL. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church.
After working hard for many years, Aureliano retired from both Estwing Manufacturing and Barron Metal. He was known as a talented, and hard working man. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to others. Our Poppy enjoyed playing soccer, singing, and playing in various bands, the most recent being 8th Street Rebellion. He loved spending time with his family and his friends. Throughout the years, Poppy always made sure to venture back to his roots at least once a year to visit his Mother, brother, sister, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. They were all very special to him.
He is survived by his wife Alicia; his children: Eva(Armando Lopez) Flores, Carlos Flores, Kristina(Todd)Orr, Veronica(Johnny Anderson)Flores, Elizabeth(Joseph Soto)Flores, Aleatha Drye, Rosaleana Jackson, Francisco Townsend, David Castaneda, Ana Karen Castaneda, and Gabriel Flores; honorary son Nicholas(Tami)Amdal; grand children: Ariel, Ariana, Alexander, Hailey,Carlos Jr, Christian, Sophia, Kali, Elijah, Annika, Robert(Emily), Samuel, Julian, Oscar, Bianca, Armando, Angelica, Chanel, Isabella, Xavyer, David, Soloria, Russelliana, Nathan, Abigail, Lyneah,Gray, Isela ,and Gianny; great grandchildren; Mason and Cloud. He is also survived by his mother Maria, of Mexico; Siblings: Jose(Irene)Flores of Rockford, Bertha(Luis) and Miquel(Grasiela) of Mexico and a host of very special nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends from Mexico and Rockford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso.
Per our Poppy's request, cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation from 5:00pm-8:00pm Friday, January 14th, 2022 at Sundberg Funeral Home 215 N. Sixth St. Rockford.
Funeral Mass at 11:00am Saturday, January 15th, 2022 in Saint Patrick's Catholic Church 2505 School St. Rockford. Visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am.
