Arthur F. Foss

Arthur F. Foss 78, died Oct. 31, 2011. He was born October 17, 1933 son of Oscar and Louise Foss in Rockford, IL. Arthur attended Rockford public schools and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He married Kay Louise Nelson on Nov. 11, 1955. They were married 50 years until her death in 2006. There was not a day that went by since her death that he wasn't thinking about her and their life together. Art retired from Rockford Blacktop. He enjoyed golf, the Chicago Bears and making crazy things in his woodshop, especially for friends and the nurses at Swedish American Hospital, where he was a volunteer since 1997. Art leaves behind 3 children Alan, Wendy and David; and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Kay; brother, Thacher; and sisters, Harriet, Margret and Barbara.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be from 2 - 4 pm, Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Northern Illinois Hospice, St. Judes Research Hospital or The American Cancer Society.
