Mary Szilveszter joined our heavenly Father on Monday, October 22, 2012 in Rockford. Born September 24, 1926 in Czechoslovakia, daughter of Mikulas and Apolonia (Sajnoha) Steklac, came to the U.S. in her twenties. Married to Otto Szilveszter in Germany and later at St. James Catholic Church, Rockford. Retired from Rockford Products with over 20 years of service. Member of St. James Catholic Church, Holy Family Women's Guild, and Verdi Club. She enjoyed bingo and her family. Survivors include: (7) children; Pete (Jan) Szilveszter of Sparta, TN; Eva Franke of Amarillo, TX; Otto (Lisa) Szilveszter of Rockford, IL; Les Szilveszter of South Beloit, IL; Tammy (Dennis) Bahling of Caledonia, IL; Debby Kruger of Elk River, MN; Kim (Steve) Lazzerini of Rockford; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; twin brothers, Mikulas and Antonin; brother, Frantisek; sister, Lydia; and two grandsons, Jake and Tom.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, Saturday, October, 27, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second Street, Rockford, IL, with Fr. David Beauvais officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth Street, Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation at the funeral home from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Memorials to the family.
