Maria DiGiacomo

Maria DiGiacomo, 83, passed away 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 5, 1927 in Aragona, Italy, the daughter of Natale and Rosa (Meli) Galluzzo. She married Vincenzo DiGiacomo in 1946. He passed away in 1979. She came to Rockford in 1980 and is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Maria loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. Survivors include her children, Salvatore (Maria) DiGiacomo, Gina (Antonio) Buscemi, Natali (Petra) DiGiacomo, Alfonzo (Rosa) DiGiacomo, and Angelo DiGiacomo, 11 grandchildren, 15, great-grandchildren, a brother, Angelo, and sisters, Angelina, Assunta, and Giuseppina.
Visitation from 4 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford with Rosary to follow. Additional visitation at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St., Rockford, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time on Monday. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2011 in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Franciscan Friars celebrating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

4pm - 6pm Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd. Rosary at 6 pm

10 am Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St., Rockford, IL
